About Liz Sharpe
Liz Sharpe is an experienced therapist working from her base in Essex. She has extensive experience helping her clients overcome emotional barriers in their life, whether that’s alcohol addiction, smoking, weight loss, diagnosis of a serious illness such as cancer or cardiac issues and depression and anxiety. Her approachable nature means she is well-equipped to help anyone, in any situation and she focuses on solving problems as fast as possible, so you are able to continue living your life without burden.
Following her degree in psychology, Liz worked in the field of mental health for 20 years before making the leap into her own full time therapy practice. This was a long time in the making as she qualified as a counsellor in 2003!
Liz now chooses to focus her practice in 2 main areas although she is able to offer support for other issues.
- Helping busy professionals review their relationship with alcohol and if desired, set strategies for change with the support of coaching, hypnotherapy and counselling.
- Helping people recover from the emotional journey of cardiac disease and cancer. Liz holds contracts as a counsellor and hypnotherapist at two hospitals in Essex, where patients and carers commonly experience trauma, depression, anxiety and flashbacks.
If you would like to know how she can help you or a family member, then please get in touch for more details. In certain situations, Liz offers payment plans and discounts – details on request.

Key Points on working with Liz
A standard session lasts up to 75 minutes and will involve a mix of approaches such as counselling, hypnosis, BWRT, and other therapies. The fee paid is for my time and expertise – results can vary and no therapist can guarantee results. My therapies are not a replacement for medical treatment or psychiatric services.
If your reason for therapy could be related to a physical health concern, then I will ask you to see your GP first. In some circumstances, I may wish to write to your GP to let him/her know of my involvement, but I will ask for your permission first.
Life happens!! Sometimes things get in the way and you need to cancel with very little notice. However, unless it is an emergency, then I may ask that you pay for 50% of the session, if it is less than 24 hours notice.
