About Liz Sharpe

Life… Live it, Love it. (and if you aren’t – then do something about it).

The Roller-Coaster of Life

You know when you look back at your life and you can spot the points when it all changed for YOU?

I talk to my clients about the Ups and Downs of the roller-coaster of life! The highs and lows where something happened and then you weren’t the same person as before. It can be the point when you decided to change direction, or the point when you started to feel or act in a different way. This could be something small that happened when you were a kid or it could be a huge event from last week. Either way – you are not the person you were.

September 2013

It happened to me in 2013 – standing in the garden of my parents house. My mum had died from cancer that morning and we were waiting for the doctor and the undertaker to do their job. I was smoking a cigarette and was pondering how things would be different.   I was contemplating “About Life….. how everyone should live their life”. After all, life IS short – way too short to be sad or depressed, stressed or anxious, addicted or carrying the baggage of the past.
And it was at THAT point that I decided that I needed to change my own future. By 2016, I walked away from my 20 year career managing mental health services. It remains the best thing I ever did! Working alongside ONE person to move from A to B. To go from stressed or depressed to feeling calm and confident. It took me a long time to move into my own full time practice – after all, I became a counsellor in 2003!   Over the years, I have continued to add to my qualifications so that I can offer my clients fast and effective therapies such as hypnotherapy, BWRT and Old Pain 2 Go.

What have I done since being a full time therapist?

  • I am based in Southend Hospital working with cancer patients, as part of the Macmillan services
  • I am based at Basildon Hospital working with Cardiac patients as part of rehab serices
  • I run workshops and 1:1 sessions for family carers as part of Action for Family Carers
  • I presented at the international BWRT Congress on Mental Health Issues
  • I went to St. Lucia to set up pop up mental health services as part of Caribbean Elective
  • I supervise and train other therapists on mental health issues

Who do I help?

I choose to focus my practice in 2 main areas although I can also offer support for other issues.
I help busy professionals review their relationship with alcohol and make changes.  This review can be either through a single power session – Alcohol and YOU! or through a course of coaching sessions.
I help people to recover from the emotional side effects of cardiac disease and cancer. It is so common to feel traumatised, depressed or anxious after a significant illness.

Can I help YOU get from A to B?

Book in a free consultation.  Let’s talk this week.
My overwhelming belief is that life is short. I want to help you to get from your A to B so that you are living YOUR life again.  So if you want to start living life differently then get in touch.  Let’s do this.
Best Wishes

Key Points on working with Liz

A standard session lasts up to 75 minutes and will involve a mix of approaches such as counselling, hypnosis, Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT), and other therapies.  The fee paid is for time and expertise – results can vary and no therapist can guarantee results.  Therapies used are not a replacement for medical treatment or psychiatric services.

If your reason for therapy could be related to a physical health concern, then please see your GP first.  In some situations, Liz may wish to write to the GP but that will be discussed with you first.

Confidentiality is paramount and will be maintained in all but the most exceptional circumstances. You can see the privacy policy HERE

Life happens!! Sometimes things get in the way and you need to cancel with very little notice.  However, unless it is an emergency, then you may be asked to pay for 50% of the session, if it is less than 24 hours notice.
