Let me help you live YOUR life to the fullest! I have helped with so many varied issues and barriers to living life. I will work with you as an individual to find the answer that is right for you. You don’t even have to tell me the details as much of my work can be content free. Tell me how you WANT to feel and let's get you there in as few sessions as possible. I use the latest techniques of neuroscience to create quick and effective change that is lasting and can be life changing.

As you will see in the About Me section, I am a qualified alcohol counsellor and addiction specialist for gambling and nicotine. (also an ex-smoker so I know what it is like to attempt to quit!) Working in mental health for 20 years has enabled me to understand how conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress including post-traumatic stress and OCD can impact on a person. I am passionate about helping people maintain positive mental health.

Sessions

There are a few ways in which you can choose to have your sessions with me.

Face to Face Support

My therapy rooms are in Westcliff. They are easily accessible by bus, train and car (with parking available). You will need to climb one flight of stairs, but I can make alternative arrangements for our sessions if this is an issue.

Skype or Video Calling

You don’t need to leave the comfort of your home or office to be able to take part in a session. All you need is a good internet connection and headphones, and be in a place of no distractions for the session. Sessions are equally as effective as visiting me in my therapy and coaching rooms. I do require payment prior to the session starting.

Home Visit

Depending on your location, I may be able to visit you at your home if you are unable to use Skype, or are not able to get to my therapy room. A small additional charge for petrol may be requested. Please contact me to discuss further.

All clients are offered an initial consultation to assess the best treatment option and to answer any questions you might have. I will talk to you about what therapy I recommend we use and how many sessions I believe are needed. Most people only need to have one to three sessions!

I am always learning, and where possible, I have trained with the people who developed the original techniques. A therapy or coaching session may last up to 75 minutes. For skype or online sessions, I ask for pre-payment via BACS or paypal.

Counselling

I am a person centred counsellor, qualifying in 2000. I use the skills and experience from counselling in every session – to help you explore what is important to you, how you are feeling, how you want to feel and what you want to change.

I am likely to combine counselling with my other modalities to ensure that you are supported to reach your goal in as little time as possible.

Through counselling, I developed some key specialisms through training, or working with specialist agencies.

Alcohol and Substance misuse Counsellor – using motivational interviewing and following the cycle of change model to support people with addiction issues to identify what changes they want to make, and helping them make those changes safely

Bereavement Counsellor – Through my time volunteering with Cruse Bereavement Care, and working with the Samaritans, I have a full understanding of the pain and grief caused by bereavement. I am particularly able to help if you feel stuck in your grief and would like to release some of your feelings.

Adoption Counsellor – Qualified to support all members of the triad, in particular birth parents and adult adoptees. My training also included working with foster carers, and people going through the IVF process.

I am a solution focused hypnotherapist which means I use practical, modern, and well-researched strategies to help you make significant, positive changes to your life in a relatively short period of time.

I will typically focus on the present and the future – only using the past as a way to gather information on the history of the problem where required.

Phobias Phobias can have a paralysing effect on every day life. You weren’t born with a phobia. Let hypnosis rid you of the fears that are stopping you having a good day. Hypnosis has an excellent track record in helping alleviate or diminish the symptoms of many phobias.

Self Esteem Some people seem to have a high ego, whilst others can be overwhelmed by feelings of shyness, inadequacy, and low self esteem. Hypnosis can be excellent at helping you develop inner confidence to be able to tackle those issues such as social situations, job interviews, and developing personal relationships so give your ego a boost today.

Stress, Anxiety and Depression When stress, anxiety and depression stops you living a normal and healthy life, you should seek support. Hypnosis is excellent for relaxation, boosting self esteem and confidence building – clinical hypnotherapy can have a positive effect on your ability to cope with life stressors. Psychosensory Techniques and Principles are a unique blend of therapies (including EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Hypnosis, NLP, Havening, Progressive Thought Field Therapy, VCART) taking the best from each and combining them to make Psy-TaP.

In addition to this, I am a qualified Thought Field Therapy Practitioner. Thought Field Therapy, also known as meridian tapping, is a powerful technique that you can take home with you! A non-invasive, non-medical way of combating anxiety, pain, trauma and fear, letting you live the life that you want to live.

The principle of Psy-TaP is to work content free – you don’t need to tell me what the problem is or relive painful memories – just how you are feeling, and what you want to feel.

I use principles of Psy-Tap with 95% of clients as it blends incredibly well with hypnosis, plus contains useful techniques that you can do after sessions. Learn to reduce anxiety, manage your anger, and change your emotions as you wish. I will help you take back control.
